Vacancies

Mukhanyo Theological College is a Christian educational institution based in South Africa with an expanding network of campuses and local learning sites within South Africa and southern Africa. Our mission is to glorify God by equipping church leaders and other Christians in their communities.

Mukhanyo is seeking applicants for the following positions:

General Worker (at our Pinetown Learning Centre)

Buildings: Key Roles and Responsibilities: 

  1. Cleaning all facilities: kitchen, offices, classrooms, corridors, verandas, staff toilets, etc.
  2. Maintain high standards of hygiene and safety
  3. Responsible for all stock under your control
  4. Prevent theft of MTC’s property (e.g. cleaning material, kitchen utensils, equipment, etc.)
  5. Report irregularities to management
  6. Be punctual, presentable and self-disciplined
  7. Other tasks and duties as required by management

Grounds: Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Cleaning and maintaining the grounds
  2. Mowing lawns, weeding, pruning of trees, and watering plants as needed
  3. Empty the trash bins regularly
  4. Packing/ moving of chairs, tables, furniture and equipment as needed
  5. Cleaning roof gutters & assist with maintenance as needed
  6. Other tasks and duties as required by management

The desired candidate will:

  • Be willing to work under pressure, 3 days (24hrs) per week, and at times on evenings or Saturdays.
  • Demonstrate faith in Christ as defined by the Bible and as expressed consistently through a godly lifestyle that radiates the fruits of the Spirit with active participation in a Christian church
  • Promise to uphold the mission, vision, confessional statements, and values of the institution and subscribe to MTC’s Culture Pledge
  • Show ability to relate well to people without compromising your key roles and responsibilities
  • Feel called by God to serve at Mukhanyo Theological College for the benefit of Christ’s kingdom

Receptionist & Administrative Assistant

Pinetown Advanced Learning Centre

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Provide reception and secretarial support for the Pinetown Advanced Learning Centre.
  • Provide experienced administrative support for the Campus Manager.
  • Assist with student applications, student administration and student academic records, which entails communicating with students, lecturers and relevant staff at other Mukhanyo centres and institutions;
  • Handle office matters (such as the timely purchasing of office and hospitality supplies, the ordering of printed study material, and the handling of book sales) and maintain financial records of the centre;
  • Assist with administrative tasks as and when required, including supervision of cleaning staff, etc.
  • Assist in the library as needed, including updating records and ensuring that all loans are returned;
  • Answer and distribute all incoming phone calls and related emails professionally.
  • Plan and arrange for meetings, conferences, classes and other events with all stakeholders.
  • Assist lecturers with classroom needs (such as copies, digital projector setup, or virtual classes).
  • Provide occasional assistance at conferences or functions hosted on Saturdays.
  • Interact well with all staff, students and visitors.
  • Other duties as and when required by management.

The desired candidate will:

  • Demonstrate faith in Jesus Christ as defined by the Bible and as expressed consistently through a godly lifestyle that radiates the fruits of the Holy Spirit with active participation in a Christian church.
  • Promise to uphold the mission, vision, and values of the institution.
  • Be a matured individual with at least two years’ reception and administrative experience.
  • Show ability to communicate effectively and appropriately at different levels.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications.
  • Be willing to work proactively at times under pressure.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, multi-lingual, conflict resolution, and communication skills with the ability to provide administration within a multicultural institution.
  • Be punctual, presentable and self-disciplined.
  • Feel called to serve in the ministry of Mukhanyo for the benefit of Christ’s kingdom.
  • Work five days per week and report to the DBN Pinetown Centre manager.

Visiting Lecturers

Mukhanyo also welcomes experienced pastors to apply for part-time teaching opportunities. We believe that future pastors are best taught by experienced ministers who are presently serving in pastoral ministries. So we welcome the involvement of local ministers who have suitable teaching skills and many years of ministry experience. Please submit your CV to the Principal (brian.devries@mtc.ac.za) if you feel called to serve in this way. Applicants with the financial support and oversight of local churches will be given preference.

Local Learning Site Tutors

Mukhanyo welcomes applications for new Local Learning Sites across southern Africa. Experienced church leaders are encouraged to submit an application to become a volunteer tutor and lead a local site.
