For Cain Nthako, completing his studies at Mukhanyo Theological College is about more than receiving a certificate. It is about understanding God’s Word more clearly and becoming better equipped to serve others.
The 55-year-old father, pastor, businessman and community builder from Rustenburg was among the students recognised at Mukhanyo’s Awards Ceremony on 10 September at the KwaMhlanga Campus.
Cain completed his second year of the Higher Certificate programme through Mukhanyo’s Rustenburg campus. He says the programme has helped him grow both personally and as a Christian leader.
“Mukhanyo has helped me to understand God’s Word and biblical principles better. Through the courses, I have learnt a great deal and have become a better person and leader,” he says.
Faith has always formed an important part of Cain’s life. His mother served in the church, while his father was a pastor for 40 years. Growing up in this Christian home laid the foundation for his own faith and ministry.
Cain has now served as a pastor for six months. He is also involved in business, mining and community development. Throughout his career, he has held management positions in several industries. He believes that God’s grace and mercy have carried him through every stage of his journey.
As someone who values peace and development, Cain wants to help people improve their lives while gaining a clearer understanding of God. He hopes to use the knowledge and biblical wisdom gained through Mukhanyo to make a meaningful difference in his church and community.
His studies have also strengthened his ability to read, understand and teach the Bible.
“I was already a Christian, but Mukhanyo helped me to know and understand God’s Word much better,” he says.
“I am now equipped to help change lives through godly wisdom and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.”
As Cain continues serving his church and community, he remains committed to trusting God in every part of his life.
“Every blessing comes from God,” he says. “Prayer is our greatest weapon in overcoming life’s challenges.”
