As we move steadily through the semester at Mukhanyo, it is encouraging to reflect on the many ways in which the Lord continues to sustain and grow our work together. Academic life across our programmes is progressing well, with teaching and learning continuing at a healthy pace. We are now nearing the end of the first semester with examinations scheduled to begin on 19 May. I want to commend our students and lecturers alike for their diligence, perseverance, and commitment during this demanding period of the semester.
We are especially thankful for the joyous graduation ceremony held on 6 March, during which 74 students were awarded their qualifications. These occasions are always a profound reminder of the calling and impact of theological education, as we celebrate lives prepared for faithful service in Christ’s church and mission. Planning is already underway for our next graduation ceremony, scheduled for 11 September, and we look forward to that celebration with great anticipation.
Earlier this month, many of our students were actively involved in ministry during Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday, serving in churches and communities across the country. These engagements offered valuable opportunities to put theological training into practice, reminding us that our academic work is inseparably linked to service in the life of the church.
A significant highlight in recent weeks was the visit, by a delegation of Mukhanyo leaders, with King Makhosonke II of the Ndebele people. This visit affirmed and strengthened a relationship that goes back nearly 40 years, to the early days of Mukhanyo’s ministry. It was a meaningful visit during which we thanked the King for his support from the beginning and renewed our ties with mutual respect.
Looking ahead, we are excited about preparations for the TEASA Consultation 2026, a strategic event hosted by Mukhanyo each year. We are greatly encouraged by the strong response this year by participants from across southern Africa, with many already registered and available space filling up quickly. This reflects a shared commitment to ministry collaboration and educational excellence in service across our wider community.
We are also pleased to report a strong intake of new students for the first trimester of 2026 in our local learning programmes. Additionally, preparations are well underway for the second semester intake of campus‑based students across all seven Mukhanyo locations. These developments are a clear testimony to continued trust in Mukhanyo’s mission and vision.
