As we arrive at the midpoint of the year, we cannot help but reflect on how quickly the months have passed. Above all, we give thanks to the Lord for His faithful presence among us and for the many blessings we continue to experience as a learning community.
The past two months have been both full and fruitful. Students successfully completed the first semester examinations, and the Academic Committee carefully reviewed and approved all marks. In addition, we were privileged to host the 15th annual TEASA Consultation. This gathering of the Theological Education Association of Southern Africa provided a rich time of fellowship, encouragement, and shared learning.
As we look ahead, we are excited for the start of the second semester, with classes commencing at all seven locations during the week of 20 July. Enrolment remains open but will close on Monday, 13 July. We are grateful to offer a full roster of courses this semester—about 145 in total—serving our diverse student body across all campuses.
The coming months promise to be equally busy. We are privileged to regularly host visiting professors who enrich our programmes alongside our dedicated faculty. Early July will feature several intensive courses, taught by both Mukhanyo lecturers and visiting professors:
- Research Methodology (BTh Hons.) taught by Dr John Span and Dr Barend Hefer in Pretoria.
- Exegesis of Hebrews (BTh Hons.) taught by Dr Jacob Igba in Pretoria.
- Apologetic Witness (BTh) taught by Dr Brian DeVries with students from Pretoria, Johannesburg, KwaMhlanga, and other campuses.
- Doctrine of Salvation (BTh Hons.) taught in Pretoria by Dr Craig Troxel, visiting professor from Westminster Seminary California.
- Biblical Counselling (BTh) taught in Cape Town by Rev Neil Henry.
- Study Skills (H.Cert.) taught by Amanda Nel in Pretoria.
- And two Master’s level courses (ThM) taught in Pretoria at the end of July by Dr Bruce Baugus, visiting professor from Puritan Reformed Theology Seminary.
Mid-July will see our annual Staff Vision Day with the entire Mukhanyo family in KwaMhlanga, followed by a Strategic Forum in Pretoria, where we will prayerfully plan and shape our direction for the next 18 months. Alongside these events, we prepare for numerous conferences hosted by our campuses and centres from September through to November.
