Mukhanyo’s academic year has started strong! Much has happened already in the last few weeks: our staff returned to the office on Monday 6 January to prepare for the new year, we hosted many students in several intensive courses, and our lecturers have been busy with the annual opening ceremonies and orientation events.
The Pretoria campus experienced a bustle of activity during the second week of January, with 37 students attending in the degree-level intensive on Church Planting, while another 12 students were facilitated by visiting Prof Martin Klauder in a Masters-level course on the French Reformation.
We are thankful for each of the many new students who begin contact-based theological studies at one of our six campuses and advanced learning centres. The 2025 intake is still being finalised, but the total number this year will be well over 90 new students in the higher certificate and degree programmes.
The Mukhanyo family also welcomes several new full-time and part-time lecturers this year. Dr Greg Phillips has moved to Cape Town to serve as Senior Lecturer there with Rev. Neil Henry and others; he will continue as Registra, serving along with Richard Muhire and Thoko Sikhosana in KwaMhlanga. Rev. Henning Dafel, who was teaching part-time in KwaMhlanga, has now joined the capable Durban team to serve there as Centre Manager. Dr Patrick Nanthambwe is now serving full-time in Johannesburg as a Senior Lecturer. And we’ve appointed many new part-time lecturers in various locations, including three alumni who started teaching in KwaMhlanga: Given Xaba, Liberty Nyama, and Given Ngoma.
We are also thankful for the excellent start of the new Cape Town centre. The Lord has blessed the initiative to-date, and now we must plan for the next steps. Check out the Vacancies page on our website to learn about two new positions there: the Secretary and the Campus Manager.
Please join us in praying for the Lord’s blessings upon all our staff and students in 2025. “Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain” (Ps. 127:1). So we covet your prayers and plead for God’s gracious provisions of wisdom, endurance, and provisions in the new year.
