Mukhanyo Theological College welcomes dr. Japie Malan as new Deputy Principal

Mukhanyo Theological College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Japie Malan as the new Deputy Principal. Dr. Malan brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role, further strengthening the college’s commitment to excellence in theological education.

Dr. Malan holds an impressive academic background, including a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Theology from Potchefstroom University, Bachelor of Divinity (BDiv) from University of Pretoria, Masters of Theology (MTh) from North-West University, Post-Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE) from University of Pretoria, and a Doctorate (PhD) in New Testament from North-West University. His extensive qualifications are complemented by years of dedicated service in various capacities within the ministry and educational sectors.

Prior to joining Mukhanyo Theological College, Dr. Malan served as a chaplain in the SADF, followed by ministerial roles in Dutch Reformed congregations in Secunda-Goedehoop and Trichardt, where he also started the Trichardt Bible School.

His dedication to education in 1994 led him to the founding of Adullam Mission, a non-profit faith ministry near Secunda, that leads evangelistic and upliftment ministries in previously disadvantaged communities in that region.

Dr. Malan also founded the Adullam Christian Academy, where he taught for fourteen years. He served as chairperson and director for Adullam Trust until 2019. His involvement in evangelistic ministries has extended across South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique.

Since 2015, Dr. Malan has been an integral part of Mukhanyo Theological College, initially teaching at the KwaMhlanga Campus before assuming leadership roles such as Campus Manager in Johannesburg, and in 2019 he was appointed Academic Dean. His appointment as Deputy Principal marks a significant milestone in his continued dedication to theological education and leadership development.

Dr. Malan continues to lecture in Johannesburg, KwaMhlanga, and Pretoria. He also continues to serve as the manager of the Pretoria Campus.
