Prayer and Praise – December 2022 and January 2023

Why did the Lord Jesus come into this world? To save His people from their sins! Is there better news? Is there a more glorious tiding? This is our message and here at Mukhanyo we are labouring so that this message can be spread more widely and even more effectively. To say it together with the hymn writer: “We’ve a story to tell to the nations… A story of peace and light!” What a privilege to know and share this glorious message!

At the time of writing there are only a few weeks left before the annual summer holidays and much still needs to be done before we can be ready for the new academic year. We gladly share some points for prayer and praise.

  1. We thank the Lord that our campus and centre students (or contact students) could complete their exams and academic year. Please pray that they will enjoy a refreshing holiday time with family and friends and that the Lord will use them as witnesses for Him during the upcoming holiday season.
  2. Our students that study through Local Learning (or Distance) do not follow the same academic calendar and for some the holiday season is a time to catch up on studies or assignments. Please pray that the Lord will encourage them in their studies and that they might be able to practice what they learn.
  3. Pray that the Lord will provide for our students so that they can settle any outstanding study debt and enroll in time for their next year of study.
  4. Much is happening in connection with the new computer systems Mukhanyo will start using from 1 January. Please pray for all those involved in the front lines with implementing this – that the Lord will give wisdom and grace to fit all the work in addition to their normal schedules. Thank the Lord with us for a very capable consultant who is leading this project as a volunteer.
  5. Our Durban Learning Centre will move to their new premises early in December. Please pray for all those involved with this huge task and that everything will go well. It is our prayer that the Lord’s hand will be over this facilities and that Mukhanyo will be able to use it for many years to His glory.
  6. Mukhanyo’s offices will close on Thursday 15 December and re-open on Wednesday 4 January for the annual holidays. Please pray that our staff will be able to enjoy a well-deserved time of rest and will return with new strength and courage in the New Year.
  7. The following is on the calendar for January, God willing:
    1. Between 9 and 25 January there will be one intensive module for each of the four academic levels.
    2. Monday 16 January: Official opening day at various campuses/centres.
    3. Monday 16 January: Faculty Forum
    4. Tuesday 17 to Thursday 19 January: Orientation for new students.
    5. Tuesday 24 January: Classes start at the various campuses/centres.
    6. Tuesday 24 January: Executive Committee meeting.
    7. Wednesday 25 January: Meeting with Regional Coordinators.
    8. Thursday 26 January: Operations Committee meeting.
    9. Monday 30 January: Student Support Committee.

Thank you for standing with us through your prayers during the past year and for continuing to do so!
