It is with great pleasure and gratitude that Mukhanyo Theological College can announce the part-time appointment of Professor Henk Stoker, effective January 2026. This appointment reflects the College’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and the equipping of students for faithful and effective ministry.
Professor Stoker will play a pivotal role in the development of an apologetics track for Mukhanyo’s two Higher Certificate programmes, addressing the growing need for training on how to effectively refute false teachings in our society today and ensuring that students gain a solid foundation in defending and articulating the Christian faith in today’s complex cultural and intellectual context.
He will also contribute to the design and delivery of courses within the Bachelor of Theology (BTh) and Honours programmes, bringing his expertise and experience to enhance the College’s broader theological curriculum.
Professor Stoker, a respected scholar and practitioner, brings a wealth of knowledge in theology, apologetics, ethics, and academic instruction. He served as a professor at the Faculty of Theology of the North-West University for 13 years and is still involved as extraordinary researcher with supervising MTh and PhD students. Over the past 30 years he has worked extensively in the field of cults and other heresies.
His appointment strengthens Mukhanyo’s mission to equip church leaders, teachers, and students to engage with Scripture, culture, and society with both wisdom and conviction.
Mukhanyo Theological College is grateful to the Lord for this appointment and prays that He will continue to use Professor Stoker fruitfully in service of the Kingdom, impacting both students and the wider Christian community in Africa and beyond.
