Mukhanyo Theological College proudly celebrated the graduation of 74 students at its KwaMhlanga Campus during the March 2026 ceremony, marking the successful completion of their academic journey. The Class of 2025 included a diverse group of students from various programmes and local learning sites.
The ceremony commenced with the academic procession at 09:30. Following an opening prayer and welcome, Dr Brian DeVries, Principal of Mukhanyo Theological College, officially constituted the ceremony and later delivered his principal’s address. In his message, Dr DeVries reflected on the theme of light, reminding graduates that they are called to be “light in the world,” reflecting truth, faith and integrity in every sphere of life.
The keynote address was delivered by Rev Antonio Coppola, the Academic Dean of Mukhanyo. He emphasized the importance of faithful service and theological understanding in contemporary ministry. Mukhanyo’s entire faculty desires to see students equipped for faithful and effective gospel ministry, not merely educated with Bible knowledge.
Graduates then received their qualifications through conferral by Dr DeVries, Dr Japie Malan, Rev. Coppola, Dr Victor Pillay Dr Jacob Igba, and Dr Koos Adendorff. Student representative Lenka Tsotetsi addressed the assembly. The ceremony concluded with a prayer of dedication by Rev. Maarten Van Helden, Chairman of the MTC Board of Directors, and the singing of the national anthem.
Reflecting on the ceremony, Dr Brian DeVries said: “It was a joy to witness the Class of 2025 step confidently into the next chapter of their lives. These graduates are prepared not only academically but also spiritually, equipped to serve their communities with wisdom and faithfulness.”
The graduation marks another milestone in the ongoing mission of Mukhanyo Theological College to equip students for ministry and leadership within the church and wider society, fostering both academic excellence and personal spiritual growth.
